The 2020 C Flight Season Champion comes out the gate ready to defend his title. Rich Stoker takes home $350 for the win and has earned 900 points as he has climbed into first place in the Race to Hilton Head.
Day 1: Wally Bromberek came out on a mission to dominate the front 9 on Saturday posting a very low 38 birding the 1st and 8th holes along the way. Stoker, and Michael Simmert did their best to keep up both shooting 45s during their debuts.
But it truly was a tale of two nines as Bromberek and Stoker flip flopped scores, as Stoker carded the back nine 39 and Bromberek shot a 45 really tightening the race. Shep Ellis stayed steady going 46/45 and Simmert went 45/46 to round out Sundays final group while tour newcomer Ron Golden was only one shot back.
Day 2: With the wind still blistering on Sunday the C Flight took the afternoon. Lincolnshire CC Champion, Mike Pearson was determined to at least apply some pressure to the leaders as he came out an shot an opening nine 40. Playing beside Pearson, Rich Newman had similar plans, firing an impressive front nine 41. Although both players climbed the leaderboard it was not enough to catch the top 2. Stoker was to much for the field as he pulled away Sunday finishing with a two day total of 171, eight shots better than Bromberek. Pearson and Newman took 3rd and 4th while Kevin McInerney found the final spot on the prize cut line with a total of 186.
