French Lick 8/11/11
What a
beautiful course we played at French Lick on Thursday, August 11th and what a nice day of
weather we had. Getting used to unusual slow greens at the
Donald Ross course was tough for everyone, several golfers had them figured out
with some nice scores posted. Winning his second tournament of the year
was Sid Dye posting a 77 for the low round of the day in the Champ flight
close behind was Bob Glordan-80, another stroke back was Tommy Jones-81.
Winning his third tournament of the year in the A-flight was Rick Wigginton-79,
followed by Wayne Adams and Randy Leonard, both posting an 83. Stan
Billman won his second straight and third tournament of the year with a real
nice 78, (hmm maybe we see a new A-flight player), one stroke back with a
79 was Steve Willem, and 2 back from him was Gary Cooper-81. We had a
first time winner in the C-flight John Chastain, scoring his best round of 83
and winning in a 5 hole playoff, over Chuck Baker-83, 3 strokes back in third
was Glen Freeman-86.
