Irish Creek

Tees:

Champ & A Flight: (Back) 6400 yds.

B & C Flight: (Middle) 6000 yds.

River Run Monday March 31st also let me know ASAP (Yes or No) as it will probably sell out.

Championship Flight:

Greg Powell & Tom Cone tied for first place Wednesday at Northstone with 75.  All ties are broken by going to the scorecard playoff which Powell won after three holes.  Dan Hendrickson playing in his first event of the season finished in third place with 78 beating out Piedmont VA tours John Sutton on the card playoff.

A Flight:

Local Northstone member Chris Cross used all his knowledge en route to a three shot victory with 78.  Jeff Thompson continues to knock on the door for his first win but finished a strong second place with 81.  Len McCalister and Richard both fired 84’s but it was McAlister grabbing third place money on the card.

B Flight:

Toby Tyler waited around deciding if he could play in the drizzle to start the day and I’m sure now that he is glad he did.  Tyler not only played but went out and posted his first victory of the season at 82, thanks to a hot putter.  Jimmy Reynolds played with Tyler and finished one shot back at 83 followed by Nolan Elenz at 88.  Tommy Bedenbaugh and Bob Deaton both shot 91’s to tie for 4th place but it was Bedenbaugh winning outright on the card playoff.

C Flight:

Raleigh Tours Patrick Warren came down for a visit and went home the victor with 90.  Jerry Hoogeveen finished in second place beating out last week’s winner Ray Schilling on the card.  Both players fired 92’s.  David Cline and Bill Holland also finished tied at 96 for fourth place but it was Cline grabbing the cash on the card.

Scott Ide hit the shot of the day on the difficult par three 7th hole.  From 177 Scott hit a 6 iron into the cup for his fourth hole-in-one in his forty plus years of golf.  Ironically it was his sons 6 iron he was borrowing because his was in the shop.  No explanation form Ide was given as to why his club was in the shop, one can only guess - bad grip!
