The Virginia Senior Amateur Tour headed south to Emporia Country Club for the Southside Senior Championship, and four flight titles produced just about every kind of finish you could ask for.
In A Flight, Bo Crooks and Tim Middleton both posted 76 and needed extra golf to settle it. Crooks came through in the playoff to take the championship.
B Flight belonged to David Sigers. Two birdies and an eagle powered him to a 76 and a five-shot victory — the most decisive win of the day.
Then came another playoff in C Flight. AJ Bossard and Rolf Granger each finished at 89 before Bossard closed the door in extra holes.
And D Flight went right down to the wire, with Al Rodgers posting 91 and holding off Michael Jordan by a single shot.
Two playoffs. One five-shot statement. One one-shot escape. Southside delivered.
