The Charleston Senior tour wrapped up their 2026 season at Santee National on Sep 21^st.  It was quite the display of golf and along with some very good golf, there was some nice fellowship had after the round!

The Champ flight came down to Marty Bunch and Mike Cobb, who was trailing Marty by a slim margin. Basically, the winner would be the season long points champion.  They were neck and neck on the front nine with Marty birding hole 9 to pull with in one shot.  Cobb then hit a beautiful approach to the par 5 tenth hole that hit the flag stick and almost went in for the albatross. His ball wound up a few feet away from the hole and just like that he had a three shot lead.  Mike not only won the season ender, he was also the Charleston Tour Player of the Year! His season included five victories including a Regional Championship at Sequoyah National Golf Club. Congrat Mike

The A flight season long Champ was Jace Gause who posted 4 victories of his own!  Jace very well could have made it five victories, however Steve Whitmore came out and blistered Santee national for a 1 under par 71!  Steve Walters who also fired a 77 to tie Jace for second place took home third place with the scorecard playoff.

The B flight was won by one of our good friends from the Augusta Tour, Larry Hyman, who has to be one of the best guys in the world to play with! Larry and Chad Eldredge both carded viey nice rounds of 80 to finish in a tie.  Larry prevailed in the on-the-course playoff! To take home the first place prize! Cliff Marcums steady play came through again, not only did he finish third, he also won the season Long Points race for B flight.

The C flight saw the winner not only get first place with a playoff victory over Cooter Douglas, Julie Walters took home the points title for Charleston for the second year in a row!!  Julie and Cooter both turned in very nice rounds of 87 and I couldn’t be positive on which one of the two was more nervous!  Congrats Julie on a great season!

The D flight race was determined for the season championship prior to teeing off, tnen after nine holes it seems Andrew Farley made sure that the tournament was already determined as well, firing a very smooth 86 for a seven shot victory.  Congrats on the great round! 

Next season is already in the works, look for a slightly larger schedule and a good mix of Saturday and week day events!!
