Battle at The Crow, rain avoided, social a success!
The Charleston tour headed over to Goose Creek for their “Battle
at The Crow” and with threats of rain and a major rain delay, not only did we
get it in, but we also had the a very nice social afterwords!
The Champ flight came down to Tim Sumption and Marty Bunch,
with Marty stating off hot by birding holes 1 and 2. Tim held steady with 7 pars on the front to
take a 4 shot lead on the front and then held on on the back nine to edge Marty
by two shots!
The A flight saw new old timer Troy Phillips fire a front
nine score of 37 to take a 2 shot lead onto the difficult back nine over Fred
Dixon and Andy Motroni. Andy and Fred
both birdied 10 while Troy made a bogey to tie things up. After that, Troy righted the ship to hold off
Andy, back nine 39 and Fred back nine 40 to secure the victory.
The B flight had a first time winner on the tour as Wes
Fleming fired a nice round of 79 for a four shot victory over Jack Sharp. These two were tied after the front nine but
Wes kept it smooth on the back nie to take the 4 shot victory.
Kevin Allardice ran away with the C flight!
In the D flight Bob hill showed he doesn’t have to be in
Santee or Wyboo to win by picking up the victory with a solid round of 88.
Our next event is scheduled for Eagle Pointe in Blufton but
that may change, stay tuned for updates.
