Power Golf Workouts Home

All Of This From The Comfort Of Your Own Home In Only 30 Minutes A Day.

From: Stephen Ladd – Founder, Renegade Golf Fitness Institute

Are you serious about your golf game? I mean obsessed with crushing your drives, sticking your irons and draining putts? Not to mention becoming top dog in your foursome?

I thought so…

No doubt you’ve noticed the rise in popularity of fitness programs for the top players on all the Tours. Maybe you’ve started a fitness program in hopes of adding more power and distance, but aren’t getting the results you were hoping for . . or even worse, you end up injured and can’t play at all.

There is one primary reason for this, and I’m going to tell you all about it. But first, let me introduce myself .

My name is Stephen Ladd, and my obsession is training golfers as athletes, and developing their bodies to better use their golf skills and play to their peak potential. I have been doing just that for over 16 years… long before the “golf fitness” craze began.

I have been trained and certified through the most prestigious golf fitness organizations in the world, including The Titleist Performance Institute and CHEK Institute.

RALEIGH'S BARCLIFT WINS SENIOR TOUR SHOOTOUT

Raleigh, NC

March 27, 2014

Raleigh's Trip Barclift followed up his 3rd place finish in last week's Senior Amateur Tour event at Bentwinds Country Club by winning at Brier Creek Country Club Tour stop in a sudden-death shootout with Sanford's Craig Sturdivant. Both players shot 1-over 73's during regulation play.

The playoff started on the difficult par-4 18th hole.

Sturdivant, who had posted 5 birdies during his round, had double bogied the 18th hole enroute to his 73 on the original 18. He had similar problems during the playoff, finding the water just in front of the green, which allowed Barclift to cruise to the win.

"It was a solid victory for Trip", stated Tour Director Bruce Hallenbeck, "but I wouldn't feel too bad for Craig. He's got a really solid game and I expect him to win a bunch this year".

While the Championship Flight was decided with a playoff, the B Flight saw the largest margin of victory this season prevail as Raleigh's James Jones enjoyed an 8-stroke margin over second place finisher Dave Schmanke of Pinehurst. Jones' 74 was 12 shots better than his previous best Tour effort. "Sometimes everything just falls in place for a guy", said Hallenbeck. "I think James will keep improving and probably move up a flight before the season ends".

Eddie Johnson's last tour effort produced a score of 93 at The Challenge in Graham. The Boonville resident and Tour rookie stated " I can do a lot better than this". He proved himself correct by shooting a 76 which gave him a 1-shot win in the A Flight competition over a trio of players - Summerfield's Jack Stanley, Cecil Lockley of Creedmoor and Raleigh's Rick LaFata.

Pittsboro's Dwight Davis took the C Flight crown with an 84. He was 4 shots clear of runner-up Jim Prouty also from Pittsboro. Both have had very solid starts to the 2014 season.

Next week the Tour stops at Seven Lakes Country Club near Pinehurst. Openings are available for that event.

Where Will You Be in the 2014 Season Ending Point Standings Race?

There are only two ways to get to the year ending National Tournament - win one of the four majors or be one of the Top 15 point earners in your flight.

As you plot your tour schedule, be cognizant of the fact, only the top 15 are guaranteed access. Usually, most flight races are tight and depends on how well you play and of course how many tour dates you participate in during 2014.

Do you know how many tournaments you will need to play and what place you will need to finish in each tournament to ensure you have your automatic invitation?

Rules Review

It has been suggested that there should be a series of Rules scenarios for you to solve. So begins a series of problems titled What's the Score?

Doc Miller has graciously agreed to allow me to share these with you that he has been sending since July 2009.

I will include one each week. You should try to determine the answer based upon your knowledge of the Rules when ever possible and then use your Rule book to confirm.

There will be no trick questions or hidden information.

If you do not have a Rules of Golf book handy, go to: usga.org/Rule-Books and-Decisions

Questions from week #244 Bert and Ernie are participants in an event. Bert’s ball, which lies in the fairway, is accidentally moved by Ernie when he dropped his club. Bert’s ball must be replaced and depending upon their relationship (partners, teammates, fellow competitors, or opponents), there could be a 1-stroke penalty as a result. Decide for each situation if there is a penalty and who would get the penalty. A. If Bert and Ernie are partners in a fourball competition, then penalty to: Bert – Ernie – Neither Player. B. If Bert and Ernie are opponents in a match, then penalty to: Bert – Ernie – Neither Player. C. If Bert and Ernie are teammates each in an individual match against other players, then penalty to: Bert – Ernie – Neither Player. D. If Bert and Ernie are fellow competitors in a stroke play event, then penalty to: Bert – Ernie – Neither Player.
Answers A. Penalty to Bert (R18-2a). B. Penalty to Ernie (R18-3b). C. Neither player. Teammates would be deemed an outside agency (Definition: Outside Agency, R18-1). D. Neither player. Again, the two players are deemed to be outside agencies to one another. (Definitions: Competitor, Outside Agency, R18-1).

TTour Weather Guidelines

Primarily, we adhere to the same guidelines that the PGA Tour uses: If Primarily, the course is open, we're going to play.

The only exception to this is that I'll never put any of you in harm's way during an event because of dangerous weather. (i.e. - lightening or severe cold and wetness).

In other words, I won't let the course "bully" us into playing where an unsafe condition might exist.

Because I arrive at every event at least two hours prior to the start time and I generally have to leave my house at least an hour before that to get to the course, there is no sense calling me just before the event, because I won't be at the office. The best avenue to take is to call the course if the weather seems threatening.

If you are on the roster for the event, and you do not get a cancellation notice from the course after calling them, you are expected to show up in time for the scheduled shotgun start.
