THE 2026 SENIOR AMATEUR TOUR HAS CONCLUDED!  AND WHAT A YEAR IT WAS... Now it is on to Nationals!!

THE 2026 SEASON IN REVIEW:

CHAMP FLIGHT SEASON CHAMPION - John Benzing

John won six times on tour this year; Bucks Run, Oak Pointe Honors, Timber Ridge, Coyote Preserve, The Polo Fields, and capturing a major at Moose Ridge.  He was also in the running for the Player of the Year Honors and will compete in the Nationals tournament.

A FLIGHT SEASON CHAMPION- Andy Hochstetler

This flight came down to the very last day with Chris Kallgren the only one to catch him.  Andy was able to do just enough to finish atop of the A Flight.  Andy also had a sensational season as well.  One of his wins came at Bucks Run after he called stating that he might be late as he left his clubs at home.  He ended up being ontime and captured the win there, Thornapple Valley and Timber Ridge.  Kallgren finished first in each of the final 3 tournaments.

B FLIGHT SEASON CHAMPION- Mauricio Lopez

Over the final weeks there was no telling who might win this one; Gene Powers, Doug Chapman, Mauricio Lopez or someone else.  Powers played very well all season and had the season championship in sight going into the final round in Ann Arbor at The Polo Fields.  When Lopez finished his round with 3 straight birdies on 16, 17, and 18, that sealed the season win. He also earned wins at Thornapple Valley and a major win at Boulder Creek.  Lopez will also be competing at the National tournament in Hilton Head Island.

C FLIGHT SEASON CHAMPION- Michael Prevezianos

There was some great golf all season in this flight. Ryan Adams, Sharon Ellis, Mike Spraggins, Reggie Williams, Jeff Marshall, Steve Bond, Bruce Nelson and Gary Adams all has at least one win on tour.  Michael ran away from the field a long time ago. He also was a candidate for Player for the Year with his 4 wins and a major!  Michael will also be making his first trip to the National Tournament in Hilton Head Island.

D FLIGHT SEASON CHAMPION and the 2026 PLAYER OF THE YEAR- Dave Babcock

Mike Smyth started RED HOT in D Flight winning 4 of the first 6 tournaments before being promoted to C Flight for the remainder of the season.  Dave won five times, captured 2 majors in route to running away with D Flight.  Dave, you earned this Player of the Year honors within your flight against your peers.  Well done!  Dave will also be taking his talents to Hilton Head Island and the Nationals tournament.
