It was a week to remember for Team Orlando at the Senior Amateur Golf Tour Championship in Hilton Head. This year, Orlando won the Team Cup for a second time with a two day score of 1294. Charlotte was second with 1307.

Orlando now has another National Champion in 2015 as Brad Bettin won the Senior B Flight with rounds of 84-80. Steve Eberly won D Flight at the Golfweek AGT in October. It is the second time Orlando has had a national champion on the Golfweek AGT and the Senior AGT in the same year. Chad Frank won the Golfweek AGT Championship in October 2007 and Dennis Brady won the Senior AGT in November 2007.

Hilton Head has been good to Orlando seniors. In 2007 Team Orlando won the Senior AGT Team Cup for the first time. Also in 2007, Dennis Brady won the individual title in the Championship flight. Both the 2007 & 2008 Senior AGT Tour Championships were played in Hilton Head--the last time the seniors played in Hilton Head. From 1999-2006 and 2009-2014 the event was played in Pinehurst before returning to Hilton Head this year. This year was eerily similar to 2007 as we had national champions in both the Golfweek and Senior Championships as well as finishing second and first in the respective team competitions.

Eight other Orlando players joined Brad in bringing home prize money for top ten finishes. Full results for flights and teams are posted on www.senioramateurgolftour.net.

Orlando also had players win over $1500 in skin money during the tournament.  Orlando skin winners included:  Mike Dowless, Cory Walker, & Chet Rakowski each winning 2 skins on Tuesday and Rick Whitman winning one.  Wednesday saw Bill Shufelt, Rob Kempinski, Chet Rakowski and Mark Klenck win skins. 

Thank you to all the members who participated in the senior Tour Championship.  It will be fun to have the Team Cup at all of our 2016 Orlando tournaments.
