The Golfweek Amateur Tour completed its 2017 regular season September 23 at Orange County National's Crooked Cat course.   Player of the Year was still up dor grabs in five flights entering the last event.  The season ended up with playoffs in several flights.

Jeff Moritz and Jacob Richard shot 73's to force a playoff for Championsship Flight.  Jeff prevailed on the third extra hole.  Chad Frank missed the playoff by one shot and as a result, Moritz passed him to take the Player of the Year for the flight.  All was not lost for Frank as he tied John Ward on 74 for first in Senior Championship.  Chad won on the second extra hole.  The victory gave Chad the Senior Championship Flight Player of the Year in his first year playing as a senior.

A Flight saw Steve Cleary shoot 74 to force a playoff with Eric Huffington.    Steve won on the first extra hole.  The second place finish guaranteed Huffington the A Flight Player of the YearDonald Dunivant won his third straight event in Senior A Flight after posting 76.  Robbie Robinson was second with 78.   The three straignt wins pushed Dunivant to the top of the Seniior A Player of the Year points list, edging past Doug Conklin, who had led most of the season.

Dan Seidenfaden won the B flight Player of the YearMark Klenck, Jonathan Pinkney and Mike Birzon all shot 82 to tie for first in B flight.  Pinkney won the playoff.  Ray Rodriguez won Senior B Player of the Year.   Peyton Zeigler won the C Flight with 84.  Paul Lomangino (Tampa) was second.  Charlie James 88 was good enough to win Senior C.  Rick Whitman was a double champion, winning Player of the Year in C and Senior C Flights.
