HOLE IN ONE HIGHLIGHTS ORANGE LAKE EVENT

STEVE CLEARY SCORES ACE & WINS THE A FLIGHT AT ORANGE LAKE; DENNIS BRADY TOPS IN REGULAR AND SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIIP FLIGHTS

We had some thunder at Orange Lake on Saturday afternoon, but it was Steve Cleary who made the most noise.  He fired a seven-iron from 143 yards into the hole on #12 for the first hole in one on tour since Ray Vigeant last year.  It was Steve's second career hole in one.  Not only did he score an ace, but he tied with John Marshall for first place in A flight with terrific scores of 73.  Steve struck just as quickly in the playoff as he beat John on the first extra hole.  On any other day, David J. Parker would have taken top honors.  But his 75 was good for third place this week.  Dennis Cargo and Will Young were next on 76.  .

Dennis Brady had a good day as well.  He opted into the regular Championship flight as well as the senior Championship flight this week and promptly went out and shot 75.  It was good enough to take top nonors in both flights.  And in fact, seniors doubling in the regular flilght took second and third as well.  Cory Walker and Bill Foster tied with 76's along with regular Championship flight player Chris Boylan.

Eric Qualls scored the victory in B flilght with an 85.  After five tournaments, he has earned a promotion into A flight beginning at Victoria Hills.  Nice playing Eric!  Russell Outram finished second, one stroke back at 86.  Ben Hamby and Matt D'Auria were thrid and fourth respctively with 88 and 89.

C flight continues as a very competitive flight each time out.  This week was no exception.  Gordon Gibbs posted an 88 and watched as it held up to edge past new member Paul Demling and Randolph Hill, both shooting 89.

Chase Forsyth in D flight won for the second time on tour this yearshooting 91.   Joshua Johnson was second (97) and  George Alysworth (97) took third.

Steve Johnson was the only senior player to break 80 at Orange Lake.  Hiis 79 was three ahead of Jeff Bradshaw (82).  Mike Lombardo was third with 83, but Johnson's win moved him into first place on the Points List.

First year member John Cruise took senior B flight with an 85.  Ben Hamby finished second, three back.

NEXT EVENT is May 21 at Victoria Hills
