OCTOBER 20-26, TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP WEEK

TEAM ORLANDO TAKES 3RD IN GOLFWEEK AMATEUR TOUR TEAM CUP PLAY; MORITZ, SEIDENFADEN, BRUMFIELD, PODAWILTZ TOP INDIVIDUALS

I want to thank all the members of the Golfweek and Senior Amateur Tour / Orlando for another successful year:  I know those that wend to Hilton Head this year had a great time and are already looking to qualify again next year.  We hope those of you who could not go this year can qualify to represent us next year on the national stage.


2017 GOLFWEEK AMATEUR TOUR TEAM ORLANDO

Forty Orlando Golfweek Amateur Tour members made the trip to Hilton Head to compete in the Golfweek Amateur Tour National Championship.  Outside of some rain on the last day, the weather was very nice for the event.  Nine Orlando members came away with prizes, let by Jeff Moritz and Chad Frank who finished 2nd and T8th, respectively in the Championship Flight.

In the A flight, Steve Cleary topped the Orlando entries with a T27 finish.  Steve also won a skin on Saturday.  In B Flight Dan Seidenfaden finshed T7 as the top Orlando player.  Mark Klenck and Ray Rodriguez tied 17th to also claim prizes.  Jonathan Pinkney picked up a skin on Saturday and Sunday.

In C Flight Dan Podawiltz was the top Orlando finsher tieing for 14th.  MJ Moore also won a prize after a T25 finish.  Charlie James won a skin on Sunday.  Kenney Brumfield led the way in D Flight with a T13 finish.

In the Team Cup competition, Orlando finished third behind Charlotte and Louisiana South in third place.  32 teams were entered so we are among the best of the best.

The Edwin Watts 2-Man Challenge produced a winner from Orlando.  Mark Klenck and Dan Seidenfaden tied for second in the B flight and came away with more gift cards.

For the fourth straogjt season, tour member Steve Start sponsored our Go Low Orlando Challenge.  The lowest Orlando score in each flight at the Tour Championship wins a $500 Visa gift card.  This year's winners are pictured above..  We thank Steve for his continued support of the tour.

TEAM ORLANDO TAKES SECOND IN SENIOR AMATEUR TOUR TEAM CUP; FRANK, HARRIS, STORMS & SHUFELT TOP ORLANDO SENIORS


2017 SENIOR AMATEUR TOUR TEAM ORLANDO

Twenty two Orlando Senior Amateur Tour members made the trip to Hilton Head to compete in the Senior Amateur Tour National Championship.  The weather was very nice for the event.  Four Orlando members came away with prizes, let by Joe Harris and Chad Frank who finished 2nd, respectively in the C and Championship FlightsKeith Storms took fifth and Bill Shufelt finished T8th.  Wayne Zeigler won a skin on Thursday.

In the A Flight Michel Dion topped the Orlando entries with a 13th place finish.  In B Flight Mark Klenck was 15th  Raymond Parlato finished T17th.  In C Flight Joe Harris was the top Orlando finsher placing T2.  Rick Whitman finished 18th.

In the Team Cup competition, Orlando finished second behind Charlotte.  9 teams were entered so we are among the best of the best.
