REGAN GETS FIRST WIN, NAULT WINS IN SUDDEN-DEATH, SMITH GETS BACK-TO-BACK WIN, AND FELTY WINS
EUSTIS, FL—Charlie Regan captured his first win on Tour and Dennis Nault won in a sudden-death playoff with first time competitor and new member Jay Davis at Black Bear Golf Club in the Senior Amateur Golf Tour of North Central Florida tournament Wednesday (Mar. 14).
Regan shot an 82 to take first place in the "C Flight."
It was a pair of 79’s, that included three birdies by Nault and four birdies by Davis, that got them into their playoff. It took a birdie on the second hole for Nault to win the "A Flight."
Dave Smith, recorded three birdies on his way to an 80 for his "Championship Flight" win to follow-up the victory at Timacuan Golf Club three weeks ago.
Jerry Felty won the "B Flight" that saw him roll in two birdies on his way to an 82.
With Davis taking second in the "A Flight," Robbie Robinson took third with an 81.
In the "B Flight," Chet Parker was second with an 85.
In the "C Flight," Frank Murphy was second with an 83 and Joe Vaughn took third place with an 85.
Closest-to-the-Pin on the front nine in the Championship and A Flights was won by Roger Little; and on the back nine in the B and C Flights by Ron Kowalewski.
Birdies in the Championship and A Flights paid $30 each; in the B and C Flights birdies paid $24 each.
The next tournament is Thurs. Mar. 22 at the Country Club of Ocala. Register and pay by the Mar. 15 deadline.
