BASTIEN WINS FIRST TOURNEY, KOCHER WINS AGAIN, MORAWSKI GETS FIRST WIN IN SUDDEN-DEATH
OCALA, FL—Paul Bastien and Ray Morawski got their first wins Wednesday (Mar. 22) at the Senior Amateur Golf tour of North Central Florida at Country Club of Ocala and Jay Kocher got his second win this year.
Bastien got off to a good start with a birdie on the first hole, then sealed his win by shooting an 83 to take the "A Flight", while Morawski had to play two extra holes in sudden-death to beat Chuck Blankenship to win the "C Flight." Both finished the first 18 with a 90. In the "B Flight", Jay Kocher won his second tournament of the year by shooting a 79.
Congratulations to Kocher who moves up to "A Flight," and to Frank Murphy and Joe Vaughn who move up to "B Flight." Great playing, guys.
"A Flight" birdies paid $18 each; "B" and "C Flight" birdies paid $20 each.
Closest-to-the-Pin on the front was won by Dennis Nault at 12’ 1".
