Brooksville, Fl—Jay Davis, representing the North Central Florida Senior Amateur Golf Tour in a tournament held in conjunction with the Tampa Golfweek Amateur Tour, blew away the field and placed first in both competitions. The tournament was held at Southern Hills Plantation Club, Sat. July 21.

In the Golfweek Tour competition, Davis recorded two birdies on his way to an 81 and took home the prize and the trophy for the A flight against eight other low-handicappers.  Erich Truax, also from the Senior Tour, placed second with 84.

This was Davis’ third consecutive win with the two prior ones being at Eagle Dunes and Black Diamond Ranch Quarry course.

In the Senior competition, Davis and Truax also took the top two A Flight places and Ted Kowalczyk was third with a 90.

Senior competitor Jerry Smith was first in the B Flight with an 83, and Jerry Felty, who shot an 83, was second in the score card playoff.

C Flight competitor Ray Morawaki was first with a 93.

The next scheduled tournament is Sept. 5 at Harbor Hills in Lady Lake; the deadline to register and pay is Aug. 29.
