DAVIS, BRIGHTBILL, WIN AGAIN; DAYTON VICTORIOUS IN SUDDEN-DEATH PLAYOFF
BROOKSVILLE, FL—Fast greens, beautiful conditions and a great golf course combined to give Jay Davis and Les Brightbill another victory; and, Jesse Dayton won again as well, but in a sudden-death playoff at the North Central Florida Senior Amateur Golf Tour tournament at Southern Hills Plantation last Saturday (April 27).
Representing the A Flight, Davis had birdies on the fifth and twelfth holes on his way to an 82. Shade Smith was second in the flight with a 90, which included a birdie on the twelfth hole as well.
Les Brightbill posted the low round of the day with an 81 in the B Flight, which saw him roll in a birdie on the sixteenth hole. Placing second was returning tour player Jerry Smith who shot an 85.
Dayton defeated Dan Sarkisian in a three hole sudden-death playoff after each shot an 89, in the C Flight. Placing third was Quinn Hayes with a 90.
A flight birdies paid $15 each; B and C Flight birdies paid $54 each.
Payouts: A Flight—1st $75, 2nd $45; B Flight—1st $110, 2nd $70; C Flight –1st $170, 2nd $100, 3rd $70.
The Tour’s next tournament is at Rolling Oaks at World Woods in Brooksville on May 11. Deadline to register and pay is May 4.
