PRE-SEASON EVENT NOTICE
Although the
current forecast for Saturday's pre-season event at Longleaf is spotty at
best, we are 100% sure we will play.
As most of you
know, we use the PGA rules when it comes to playing, if the course is
open for play, we are playing.
I still have some
openings for the event, so if you haven't signed up, there's still time!

Tour Weather Guidelines:
Primarily, we adhere
to the same guidelines that the PGA Tour uses: If the course is
open, we're going to play.
The only exception
to this is that I'll never put any of you in harm's way during an event
because of dangerous weather. (i.e. - lightening or severe cold and
wetness).
In other words, I
won't let the course "bully" us into playing where an unsafe
condition might exist.
Because I arrive at
every event at least two hours prior to the start time and I generally
have to leave my house at least an hour before that to get to the course,
there is no sense calling me just before the event, because I won't be at
the office.
The best avenue to
take is to call the course if the weather seems threatening.
If you are on the roster for the event, and you do not get a
cancellation notice from the course after calling them, you are expected
to show up in time for the scheduled shotgun start.

Longleaf Golf Club
Longleaf Golf &
Country Club is an 18-hole Dan Maples designed course that will offer
tour members an exceptional tournament experience. Located in Southern
Pines, Longleaf Golf & Country Club has been called the ‘most
playable course in the Sandhills’ by Ron Witten of Golf Digest.
Third generation
golf course architect Dan Maples, creator of the Award Winning Pit Golf
Links, brings his talent back home to Southern Pines with Longleaf Golf
& Country Club. Built on the site of one of the Village of
Pinehurst’s former horse training estates, Longleaf shines with Dan’s
love of tradition.
Many of the original
features — the white fences, rail post and hedgerows — have been
carefully retained as a tribute to the original site.
