Results from Mill Creek
On
Thursday September 8th, the Central Carolina Senior Amateur Golf Tour made
their way to Mebane to tackle the fabulous Mill Creek Golf Club. The course and
greens were in excellent condition and the weather was great.
In
the Champ flight, Chris Wilkes birdied the first hole, the 16th, and the 18th
and went on to post 79 to take the head to head match up with Joey Moffitt who
came into the clubhouse with an 81 on his scorecard as the runner up.
Howard
Nemenz in the A flight continued his torrid pace by winning his third
consecutive outing as he posted a three over par 75 to win by a single stroke.
In addition to this week’s one shot win, Howard also won in a blowout by nine,
and won in a four man playoff. Way to go Howard! Jamie Branham was runner up to
Howard with his round of 76. Cuong MIKE Ton and Bob Dail ended T3 with scores
of 77. Meanwhile Dan Anthony, Donnie Pritt from the Eastern NC Tour, and Willie
Boyd all carded 79 in a T5 finish.
In
the B flight, Michael Broadway shot 77 to take home his first victory of the
season. It was a three way tie for second place as Peter Martin from the
Charlotte Tour, Eddie Jaggers, and Gene Jones all posted scores of 79. James
Demyan grabbed fifth place shooting 80, while Mike Turbeville, Gerald Horton,
and Gus Alford all carded 81 for a T6 ending.
Greg
Martin in the C flight put a birdie on his scorecard the very first hole and
never looked back as he posted 77 to collect his second win this season by six
shots. Patrick Warren became the runner up finisher shooting 83. Rich Henn from
the Eastern NC Tour, Rus Rilling, and Levin Touchton from the Charlotte Tour
finished the round T3 as all three players turned in matching scores of 85.
In
the D flight, Kelly Brown posted a score of 89 to claim his second consecutive
victory by four shots. Victor White placed second carding a 93, while Don
Michaux grabbed third with his round of 94. Neil Bleau took fourth place with a
score of 99, as Sola Edwards rounded out the top five shooting 102.
Thursday
September 15th sees the Central Carolina 2022 regular season come to an end as
the tour moves to Whitsett to take on the beautiful Stoney Creek Golf Club.
