Cecil Lockley of Creedmoor in the A flight used 4 birdies on the front nine for a blistering four under par 32 and added another on the back nine while posting a phenomenal three under par 69 to win the A flight at The Preserve at Jordan Lake. Chuck Taubersmith of Pinehurst shot a consistent 36-36 even par 72 to take second place. Mike Johnson of Clayton and Wilson Shelton of Madison tied for third with each shooting a 76.
In the Champ flight Howard Nemenz continued his stellar play by posting a 37-35 even par 72 for the win. Grant Hoffman of Asheboro captured second shooting 74. Larry Eimers of Durham playing in his first tour event carded 86 for a third place finish.
Huston Shaw of Winston-Salem carded an 80 in the B flight for a two shot victory. Ron Tapscott of Walkertown was the player shooting 82 to finish in second place. Jim Shermer of Lewisville posted 83 for third place and Larry Kelly of Hillsborough shot 84 for a fourth place finish.
In the C flight it took 19 holes to determine the winner as Brian Costine of Raleigh and AC Guarino of Pfafftown both shot 88 in regulation play. Brian parred the first playoff hole to take the victory. Don Michaux of Greensboro finished in third place shooting 91. Dan Harness of Wake Forest, Jeff Stevens of Greensboro, Mike Hunter of Greensboro, and Rus Rilling of Madison all shot 93 to tied for fourth.
