The Senior Amateur Tour tackled the challenging Tot Hill Farm golf course on Thursday June 22.
Grant Hoffman of Asheboro fed off of some home cooking as Tot Hill is his home course to post a strong one under par 71 to edge Eric Ardery of Durham who shot a one over par 73. Howard Nemenz of Winston-Salem finished third with a 75.
In the A flight Chuck Smith of Sanford shot 75 to also win by two strokes ahead of John East of Rockingham (77). Chuck Taubersmith of Pinehurst came in a very close third place by shooting 78.
Rob Geilhausen of Linwood carded an 81 to win the B flight by a single stroke over Ron Tapscott of Walkertown. Ron’s 82 was only one better than Huston Shaw of Winston-Salem who posted an 83.
In the C flight Dave Davis of Martinsville, Va had 3 birdies enroute to an 83 but still needed an extra hole in order to win for the second time in a row. Dave won with a par on the first playoff hole to edge out Chuck Snider of Charlotte. There was a tie at 86 for third place by Brian Costine of Raleigh and Rus Rilling of Madison.
